| Abstract: | With the new pattern of opening nationwide formed, the eastern areas' original relative advantages have gradually disappeared. It is basically impossible to attract resources moving eastward. There is also less and less possibilities of drawing the western areas' funds by various preferential policies. For some introduced project at the beginning of opening, they are facing double and redouble pressure from the environmental protection and so the economic returns will inevitably fall correspondingly. The eastern areas are also faced with challenges from further rising labor cost and shortage of resources. |
