| Abstract: | The gap in utilizing foreign investment between the central and western areas and the eastern area finds expression in the following: The actually used foreign investment in the central and western areas is much less than that in the eastern area; The proportion of foreign direct investment utilized and that of foreign investment in their economic structure are both smaller; The quality of utilizing foreign investment is lower and the gap in the growth rate of foreign investment between these areas is widening. So the central and western areas should practice the principle of large-sized projects, pushed forward by the government, attach importance to the function of financial institutions and intermediary ones, utilize actively foreign loans, and develop and use international capital markets. |
