Abstract:This article discusses the results of comparison made btw. contingent valuation (CV) response regarding willingness to pay (WTP) for improved protection of rural lanscape and self-reported actual voting behaviour. The results show that contingent valuation survey was not very effective in predicting the actual voting behaviour. However, the socioeconomic characteristics and WTP bids were found to be similar in the CV sample and voter survey sub-sample.
