Abstract:The article discusses whether and how women who join in the firm's board of directors and senior management improve financial performance. Using the Fama and French valuation framework, the results show that firms do obtain positive and significant abnormal results when there is a high proportion of female officers. The participation of women in in both management and governance systems does not seem to make a significant difference in this case.
