Abstract:According to the authors of this article there are two significant gaps in the research on corporate responsibility outcomes. The first gap concerns the link between the type of corporate responsibility and financial performance, the second one is about the societal outcomes of corporate responsibility. The authors address these deficiencies by extending the conceptualizations of corporate responsibility to an action-oriented typology, including the following types of corporate responsibility: philanthropy, corporate responsibility integration and corporate responsibility innovation. The financial and societal outcomes of these types are then discussed.
