| Abstract: | Purpose of this paper is to identify the types of travel situations associated with environmentally friendly travel mode choices. In addition, the study aims to identify which kinds of tourism destinations should develop and promote in order to minimize their environmental impact. The data consists of information from trips taken by residents of Switzerland during the year 2004. It is found that tourist choose more likely an environmental friendly travel mode if private transportation is not only choice to the destination. |
