| Abstract: | The compendium about the practical role of finance is intended to assist practicing managers to understand those areas that affect them. In financial accounting are included trial balances and interpretation of accounts; analysis of company balance sheets, the legal and professional requirements for their preparation, and explanations of term like assets, liabilities, ownership, profit and loss; and statements of source and application. Management accounting is concerned with budgeting in the fields of operations, cash transactions and capital transactions. Costs are defined in many ways. Suggestions for income analysis are made. A number of more technical matters are introduced: the use of computers, statistics, audits. |
