Abstract:Political skill is the elusive and increasingly important ingredient of success and survival in organizational life. Animal symbols are used to represent the four behavioural styles: innocent, inept, clever, wise. The model described here contains two dimensions relating to the skills of "reading" the politics of an organisation and to the skills an individual is carrying into situations which may predispose them to act with integrity or play psychological games.
