| Abstract: | Because of the strong foreign-trade interpenetration of the FRG /Federal Republic of Germany/ the exchange development must be judged on its structure influence /exchange rate indicated changes of investments/. In the over- and underestimating phases of the past the reactions of the foreign trade /process-industry/ were too offensive or defensive. After the turn-back of currency-evaluation very big compliance problems turned up /over-capacities, insufficient innovation-potential/. Since the beginning of the eighties learning effects have appeared. The investment mix was more even than earlier. Though the danger of falling into the exchange rate trap still exists. |
