| Abstract: | Arguments are presented that the 1992 program must be integrated into the corporate strategic process now. European Communities events should be monitored, and ties with EC decision makers should be cultivated. Firms must prepare to cope with giant Eurofirms and increasing protectionist sentiment. The relative benefits of simple exportation, strategic alliances, joint ventures and direct investment in the European Community are considered. Non-EC firms should avoid countries that protect their own national champions. In that respect, France is less hospitable than Spain or Great Britain. A number of important suggestions are made and illuminating examples are provided. |
