| Abstract: | The previous free trade consensus has been replaced in the US after World War II. by the concept of fair trade. Promotion of fair trade requires a policy of interferences and procedures to enforce them. The paper discusses protectionist trade remedy procedures as incorporated into the US Omnibus Trade and Competitivity Act of 1988, such as response to foreign unfair trading practices, changes in the escape clause, antidumping provisions, countervailing duty provisions etc. |
