Abstract:Three main areas are evaluated where boards can add value to their corporate enterprise. Besides monitoring management, helping to formulate corporate strategy the most important is corporate accountability. Varied groups of stakeholders, and the public hold the company accountable for its actions.The standards imposed by these groups are defined by the interest of the group. These standards range from financial to environmental and all influence the corporate lifespace.
