Abstract: | Channel conflict is defined as a perception of the part of a channel member that its goal attainment is being impeded by another, with stress or tension the result. Two hypotheses are made concerning the relationship between exporters from a developing country and importers based in a developed country /E-I relationship/. Fieldwork concentration on two countries /Greece and the UK/ tested the hypotheses. It is found that there is conflict in E-I relationship, but this conflict is confined to low level. It is also shown that marked perceptual differences between most of the E-I matched pairs exist concerning the construct of conflict, but the identified differences followed no systematic direction. Implications are discussed in detail. |
