| Abstract: | A plethora of new concerns for internal accounting due to globalization are identified: tax implications, transfer pricing, joint ventures, financing possibilities, laws and regulations and so on. It is shown that public accounting firms also have a tremendous challenge to achieve uniform quality throughout their far-flung organizations. They must achieve a high level of coordination, communication and training. Three main classes of questions regarding implications for education are addressed: the general management students accounting exposure; the accounting specialists' education; the accounting researchers' working conditions and job requirements. Some practical suggestions are made for academic institutions. |
