Abstract: | Many executives contend that creating value for shareholders is the primary objective of management. But in focusing so strongly on the bottom line, have USA firms neglected the customer? Strategic business goals are broken down into three categories. Those that are customer-driven, those that emphasize shareholders value, and those that recognize stakeholders. These goals are not incompatible. A stock price that increases at sustainable above-average rate is a desirable goal. The price of a company's stock is important. |
