Abstract: | Shanghai is China's largest commercial center. Its three shopping streets are taken as examples. The flow of local customers in Nanjing Road accounts for 72% while that in Huaihai Road and Sichuan road all reached as high as 90%. By round about 2010, 40% of the urban population will be distributed in the periphery of urban districts, 30% in urban districts and 30% in the suburbs of Shanghai. It means that most of residents will be distributed in the out skirts In this way, the large and medium-sized retail shops should expand to the suburbs from busiest section of town, thus forming a level-structured layout of retail trading. |
