Abstract:A soap manufacturing company in Bangladesh was nationalised in 1971 and privatised in 1993. How is the consent of labour manufactured through internal states, internal labour markets and games. How are regimes of control in less developed ex-colonial countries transformed by state and production politics. How may the role of accounting systems shape and be shaped by these processes is traced.
