Abstract:Adopting a process point of view on entrepreneurship, captured by the concept of 'entrepreneuring,' the emerging practice-theory approach in the social sciences is showcased as an appropriate frame of reference. Entrepreneuring as a practice is ontologically/epistemologically qualified by presenting phronesis as the essential guiding intellectual virtue in the knowledge-creating process. A constructionist view invites various modes of coping with an ambiguous environment, for instance the use of analogizing and bricolage when presenting entrepreneuring by way of improvisation and personal networking. The notion of 'organizing context' is introduced to understand how collective support for entrepreneuring can be mobilized. Enactive research as an interactive way for field research is outlined and demonstrated in order to supplement the paradigmatic and theoretical arguments for reaching a proper practice-theory approach to entrepreneuring.
