Abstract: | The youthful biotechnology industry wants more pocket money now that it is entering its teens - reports Hodgson John. Biotechnology in the UK is at a difficult age. Too old to be irresponsible, too young to be taken seriosly. It is a bright child, full of promises. Its talk is of changing the world. Yet, to the casual observer, it shows few tangible signs of action. And now it is asking for more pocket money... No one will say that Porton was a scam. But it was bad news. Institutional investors got badly burned. |
