| Abstract: | Complexity factors are the biggest single driver of cost and the single biggest inhibitor of throughput. That is why it is necessary for managers to focus on the causes of complexity and measure its impact through improved performance reporting systems. The purpose of this article is to examine complexity factors in today's business environment and recommend the use of a well designed set of performance measures to understand, control and manage complexity. |
