Abstract: | It is argued that current management education (hereafter as: m-educ.) works primarily with an instrumental, reified and fragmented conception of knowledge (here as: knw.) that ignores the connection btw. knowing and passion. The current crises of m-educ. is exemplified and reflected on its implied concepts of knw. and learning along Lyotard's principle of 'performativity'. The relationship btw. passion and knw. is probed through Derrida's idea of the 'unconditional university' etc. On the possibilities of a deconstruction-based pedagogy in contemporary m-educ. is critically reflected. Serres' figure of the 'troubadour of knowledge' is proposed as a conceptual persona able to guide us in developing learning practices incorporating and combining the value of critique and invention. |
