| Abstract: | An examination of some sources and manifestations of stress in two-earner couples at different life-stages, based on a study of 152 couples: couples, non-parents or transitional between two stages, and no evidence of anticipatory stress in couples expecting their first child and aiming to resume a two-earner life-style. More pressures on mothers than on non-parents, and greater negative impact of parenthood on well-being for fathers. Use of multivariate analysis. Individual difference factors associated with stress. Four Tables cover deviations and variables. |
