Abstract:A great deal of research has investigated whether interdependence between world equity markets has increased in recent years. Observers have noted that communications systems have grown faster and more sophisticated, trade has increased, multinational ventures have increased, markets have been deregulated, more issues are cross-listed, international capital flows have increased, all of this leading to the result of greater movements of capital across international boundaries.
