Abstract:The paper is a playful dialog with the Father of Accounting. It celebrates the 500 years of double-entry bookkeeping. The paper interviews Luca Pacioli, who says that his role, as a codifier of the Venetian practice, was minimal; but his role as the popularizer of a basic ingredient of the new capitalistic society, was tremendous.
