Abstract: | In 1995, as our midsize CPA and consulting firm, Crowe Chizek and Company, based in the Midwest, was creating a new strategic plan, our appr. 1000 employees were asked to envision recruiting in the year 2000. The firm has recruited college students for over 30 yrs. and currently visits appr. 25 campuses annually. We investigated the recruitment practices of Fortune 500 companies and various CPA firms. We found that the standard process of hiring had not changed in over 30 yrs. time. A few innovative companies , however, were using behavior-based interviewing. Matching the needs of the firm. The differentiating and threshold competencies. Measuring performance. Long-term results. |
