| Abstract: | One can see why Estonia, unlike neighbouring Latvia and Lithuania, is in the first batch of five post-communist countries entering negotiations for European Union membership. While Estonia , like Latvia and Lithuania, has been left out of the first batch of new post-communist entrants to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) but given a special mention, unlike its neighbours it has been put forward as a possible candidate for the second batch. |
