Abstract:The move by French companies into the aera of patronage is fairly recent compared to other industrialized countries. But already large sums are being poured into it. Why are companies developing their patronage activities? It is examined if patronage activities are part of the social function of the company. On the other hand, it is necessary to point out the characteristics distinguishing the companies engaged in patronage action from those not involved. The concept of the social activities are detailed and corporate patronage is defined from this perspective.
