Abstract: | The integration of technological factors into problems of long term corporate decision making is behind a reassessment of strategic analysis. There is now a trend towards the development of technological strategies that may incorporate different approaches depending on whether priority is given to a global or contingent approach. An attempt is made to show that the second approach is preferable for science-based industries. The characteristics of strategic modelling imply meeting the requirements of formulating the objectives of strategic measures, choice of a strategic model for controlling the benefits from initial innovation, dynamic analysis of technological and business risks. |
