Abstract: | The results of a survey with marketing managers in high-tech companies are studied. Companies in high-tech industries face rapidly changing technologies and markets. Demand,supply and competitive factors have pushed firms to innovate. The active pursuit of innovation leads to the adoption of deliberate product innovation strategies. The components of product innovation strategies and the eventual types of strategies adopted by high-tech firms are identified. The relationship of strategy to performance is seen to differ depending on the size of the firm. |
