Abstract:At 3M exists an entrepreneurship-system (IS) which gives to creative employee extremely large motivation to design new product, or to take any other innovative activity at the firm. 3M success-product, the Post-it Note, the self-sticking pieces of note paper, was developed in IS by the inventor. IS and its advantages to the traditional working systems are described. The IS consists of three parts. First, 3M allows its scientists to spend up to 15 percent of their time on personal projects. Second, the firm's bureaucracy controls the innovation and if it seems to be a good one, its accumulated know-how is given to the investor. In the mature phase the invention is tested on the market.
