Abstract: | New products center is defined as a central organization that performs innovation as a service. Functional relationships of the Raytheon Company's New Products Center are illustrated. Distinction is made between new ventures, skunk works, and new products center activities. It is made clear that a new products center should have only one goal: to aid the company's growth and profits by developing new products for selected profit centers within the company. Staff should include generalists who can cross each other's boundaries with ease, and specialists who confront unique problems as only specialists can. |
