| Abstract: | This article examines the institutional change and field transformation (hereafter as: FT) using the theoretical arguments of the new institutional school of organization theory. The factors causing field change are discussed and the theoretical arguments are tested within the context of business press in Denmark and Italy during the 19602000 period. The results indicate that external shocks, ineffective isomorphic pressures and rearrangement of field boundaries have a significant impact on the FT, but the changes at the field periphery are not that effective. |
