| Abstract: | The aim of this study is to investigate the role and the relevance of knowledge-based capital as strategic resource and a source of regional innovation capacity. Human, relational, structural and social capital are identified as the four main knowledge-based category that build the knowledge-based capital of a region. The role of each category in determining regional innovation capacity is analyzed. The concepts of knowledge-based capital and regional innovation capacity are clarified. |
