| Abstract: | The author analyses the causes of insolvency and draws up a list of requirements for the restructuring of enterprises that are in a crisis and considers the demands of successful crisis management and reorganization. The discussion of factors of corporate success is currently of particular interest in view of the restructuring process now under way in East Germany. If East German enterprises are to survive they must reorganise in order to compete with their Western rivals. Corporate success in the past can never be a guarantee of continued success in the future - this must be worked for and possibly fought for year after year. The way into a crises is short; the road out is longer and is strewn with difficulties. |
