Abstract:This study investigates the implementation, communication and benefits of corporate codes of ethics (here as: cc-of-e.) by the top companies operating in Australia, Canada and Sweden. An international comparison across three continents is provided. Based on a longitudinal approach of three national surveys performed in 2001-2002 with their replications from 2005 to 2006, the empirical findings show in all three countries large organisations indicating a substantial interest in cc-of-e. However, there are differences in the ways of the companies in each country implementing and communicating their cc-of-e. and the benefits seen deriving from them. For the three countries, the longitudinal comparison btw. 2001-2002 and 2005-2006 indicates changes in the implementation, communication and benefits of cc-of-e.
