Abstract:This study examines the value of health risk reductions (henceforth as: r-r/s.) in the context of drinking water quality treatment by public systems. Combined mortality and morbidity r-r/s. are supposed to be equally spread in the future. The results suggest that microbial r-r/s. programs have higher value than cancer r-r/s., but that mortality r-r/s. values are not notably different for cancer and microbials. However, the value of cancer mortality r-r/s. exceeds the value for microbial r-r/s. A number of methodological issues, incl. performance of alternative choice experiment estimation (CE) techniques are dealt with.
