| Abstract: | The purpose was to explore whether patients would rather accept medical recommendations given by a physician or a computer program. The results showed that when patients were deciding whether to have an operation or not in different medical scenarios, they were more likely to follow a recommendation that came from a physician. Patients would feel less responsible when following a physicians recommendation than following a recommendation given by a computer program. Also, the patients trusted a physician to give better recommendations. |
