Abstract:Companies have to constantly update computers, servers, databases, and applications and staying up to date is very hard. Grid computing is a relatively new approach to sharing and accessing resources which goes beyond distributed computing. However, grid computing has some challenges: security, programming, proper allocation of resources, and inter process/system communication. The paper discusses issues and exploits possibilities for grid development in organizations as it has been mostly used in the area of physics and science and not so much in business.
