Abstract:It is possible to move far more rapidly to current-account convertibility than was previously believed. The Polish experience also shows it is possible to undervalue a currency by too much, the consequence is inflation. Also, comprehensive central planning failed. Most productive activity should be undertaken by the private sector. Some examples are presented about Soviet Uninon, China, Poland and other eastern Europe countries.
