| Abstract: | Two ways of acquiring corporate control: public full buy-outs and private block trading are examined. The relative benefits of a private block trade are explored in conditions both with and without a premium being offered above the market price of shares. If regulations prohibit trading at a premium above the market value of the shares, full buy-outs are likely to be the preferred alternative. |
