| Abstract: | Cephalopods produce rapidly changing displays of bodily colour as signals and their combinations. In his book 'Cephalopods', l985, Martin Moynihan presents a systematic study of the similarities and differences between the various colour and shape patterns of 23 species of octopuses and squids. The book helps to overcome the great difficulty of cephalopod semiotics by offering evidence of what is communicated. |
