| Abstract: | G. Hamel, in his latest call to arms, challenges strategy researchers to develop a new view on strategic management relevant to competing in the new economy. Management should focus its attention not on things that are tangible and measurable, but on things which are intangible but strategically critical: the intellectual assets of the organization. The practice of strategy is less useful because the future is becoming more unpredictable. But as Hamel puts it 'the problem is not one of prediction, but of imagination'. Successful companies will be those that are capable of enacting a compelling view of the future. |
