| Abstract: | Finite capacity scheduling (FCS) systems look at allocating a finite number of resources, such as machines and people, to perform specific tasks over a given period of time. These systems are capable of being linked to MRP and shopfloor data collection systems. This capability is ideal, since most of the latest information necessary for creating a new schedule already exists in an electronic format. No manual collection of data is required. This method results in valuable time savings when creating a new schedule. |
