| Abstract: | The economies of all four Nordic countries have suffered recently, not entirely due to the global market turmoil. What are their prospects for the future? While the EMU economies seem to converge irrevocably in spite of problems on the world's financial market, the non-EMU markets in the north have shown disparate developments recently. The Norwegian kroner weakened and the central bank put up rates; the Danish central bank also hiked rates as currency outflows threatened the stability of its currency. |
