Abstract:How does the Internet (hereafter as: I.) affect globalization (here as: glob-n.) and global strategy (here as: g-strat./g-strats.) within firms? And how should multinational companies (here as: MNC) re-evaluate their g-strats. to best take advantage of the I.? Both managers and researchers have assumed that company usage of I. technologies in a correct and appropriate way speeds up g-n. of industries and enables firm use of g-strats. This paper provides empirical evidence on the exact uses of the I. by global companies, how their use affects key g-n. drivers and how they believe this affects performance. This paper derives 10 lessons on how companies can use the I. to enhance their g-strats.
