Abstract:This article suggests that the service-based operating model is the solution for changes to the business environment that are forcing companies to look for ways to become more accessible to their customers, suppliers and shareholders. The question that organisations should be asking themselves is not whether to adopt the service-based approach but how and the reasons are today's heightened competition, cost-cutting pressure and demand for easier customer access.
