| Abstract: | A study of a quasi-Cournot model with risk-averse duopolists, regarding a regression-based market demand curve, with an exploration of the implications of these variations on Cournot's classic theme. Their public-policy messages are highlighted. Four equations are given. The review covers the problem, its resolution, comparative statics and policy implications. The author opines that by relaxing the classic Cournot assumptions to bring the model closer to the reality of the market conditions and managerial behaviour, provides a new insight into how markets work. |
