Abstract:The usefulness of seniority model is examined. Turnbull's arguments against this model are described and commented. According to Turnbull, though seniority clauses are contained in the contracts, they are seldom realized in practice. Turnbull argues that union decision- making procedure involved in the seniority model is naive, and it may predict that a union will vote itself out of existence.
