Abstract: | Strategic planning is an important factor in the success and survival of organizations. In spite of the importance of strategic planning, most empirical studies to date have been conducted in traditional industrial and less dynamic settings. As a result, service organizations have been substantially under-represented in the strategic management literature. Reported are the results of a survey of planners in three service industries. Data are presented on the views expressed in each industry and these are related to the self-reported levels of satisfaction among the planners. |
