| Abstract: | The management of the acquisition process is examined. A number of value categories are reviewed (basic capital resources, material-asset value, value based on the net income obtainable, discounted cash flow etc.). A great variety of strategic opportunities opened up by an acquisition are discussed. The problems of risk, investment requirements, dividend policy etc. are investigated. The most important factors influencing the acquisition process are described and analyzed (e.g. strategies, strategic business units, corporate audit). A matrix representation of strategic opportunities is offered. A new course of the acquisition process is developed and the chance for the disclosure of formerly hidden values is demonstrated. |
